It's a downer because I'm not allowed to donate either due to the fact that we lived in Europe during the rise of the Mad Cow.

But, I am signed up as a marrow donor since I'm a mixed breed and rather rare.

I told her upfront "You might want to do the finger prick part first...." and my drop of blood they put in the blue stuff (I'm so educated on phlebotomy ) didn't even pretend to want to sink. It was like "Hey I'm cool floating up top here!" But she was nice enough to play along and put my blood in the machine which told her 10.1. I'm a reject.

*** probably a hemoglobinometer
