something like this question was posed in a movie whose title escapes me - but here it is:::::
if you were stuck on a desolate island for one year, who would you rather have with you, a good friend or a person of the opposite sex that you were physically attracted to.
these are two mutually exclusive items. please don't combine the two.
what says you???

Would I be married in this scenario? Would the other person be attracted to me too?

Well, having been without both for long periods of time--I can understand the value of each.
I guess I'd have to go for physical attraction, because maybe someday we would grow into friendship.
Does that make me shallow?
I just know I could never "be" with someone I couldn't respect, and if I respect someone then there is room for friendship. And I couldn't be attracted to an idiot, so I know he'd be smart--so we'd have a lot to talk about.

OK, I'm going to have to "beg off" on this one too.
If I am still married, I'll take the friend.
If I am single for some reason...I'll go with the attraction.
airehead is not shallow, and neither am I.

Thanks! That makes me feel better. I spent my whole life because men would always choose over friendship. Now here I am, choosing over friendship. My, how things change!!!

I read that as 'how thongs change' the first time through.

You can put me on the bandwagon too. Who needs friends at a time like that?

Gotta go with the physical attraction. If you're stuck on a desert island, there will be a natural tendency to pull together and I think a friendship can easily develop. No doubt there will be times when you get on each other's nerves, but even a good friend will get on your nerves. May as well get a little action while you're trying to survive.

Prohemp, I would like to know your answer.
I am getting at for being evasive and not answering the question. Tee-hee!
So I will say that my answer is that although the conversation and connection is more important to me, I would pick the person I was attracted to.
But, this is because I am attracted to smarty-pants. So I know I would be able to talk to them as well and a friendship would probably develop.
It would be a two for one deal!

Plus, if you're on a deserted island, you wouldn't have to worry about waking the kids up in the next room.

Besides, do people ever get grouchy from lack of friendship? I don't think so.
