Congratulations and good luck! I think that you should definitely pursue it; anything extracurricular, especially in an area of leadership is a good learning experience and can serve as a networking tool as well.
I think that you should use your avatar as your campaign logo!

Congrats!!! 
I'm the VP of our paralegal organization at school and I have a hard time getting done what I need to get done. But then, I do have 3 kids, a full-load, and I work on campus from time to time. This semester is harder because we have Law Day to plan.
Our student body president is also the president of a few other clubs, and she does it all very well. I am sure you can do this. Being the president, you can delegate, so you always have the other officers to help when things get busy.
