Hey, my name is Landis and im on Lee Senior High School's swim team. Ive decided that I am, going to be a rescue swimmer. I know that it's one of the hardest things to do, but im goin all the way. I would just like to get in the best shape possible before going to " A " school. If there are any current or past rescue swimmers out there or anyone that would know the information i need, please tell me what i can do. Like work outs and what i need to mainly focus on in technique or anything. I do appreiciate this.

Congrats on deciding to go into this community. I have been a navy Rescue swimmer for 4 years now.

As far as tips for the training go...workout all the time:

Get on the seal website and get a hold of the training they recommend before you go to bud/s and try to follow that. Lots of swimming swimming swimming with lots of running and strength training mixed in between. at school we were in the pool for 8 hours a day sometimes and had to do every kind of stroke you can think of along with lots of budy tows both timed and during scenarios. get real use to fins swimming. you should probably be running at least 20-30 miles a week and averaging a good couple hours of swimming a week by the time you go to school.
