Okay, everyone here is quite a bit more techie than I am...but...I got a sony one about 6 months ago that reads mp3s off of cdrw's. So its basically a cd player that will play regular cds or it will read mp3s that have been burned onto a cd. HOwever, you can fit ~180-190 mp3s on one cd, thats why I did it. It does not skip AT ALL, fits perfectly into the drink holder on the dreadmill and the battery life is incredible. I'll have to look for the model. I love it.

Compaq PA-2
It came with 64Meg, I got 128 MB in it. I can get avout 40 sons ~3 hours of tunes on it.
It weighs about 5 oz, and measures: 2x3 (about the size of a pager)
I love it.

I have the Iomega HipZip. Comes with interchangeable disks, so I can have unlimited hours of music. And I don't have to go to the computer to change my music.

I got mine from a co-worker. I have seen them on Ebay for pretty good price.
I don't think they are made any more though.

Here's mine
I love it! Got it at Best Buy. Listed at $170, waited until the store sent me a coupon when it was on sale and got it for $135. It says you only get 5 hours with a battery, but with my rechargeable batteries I've gotten significantly more. Records both from downloaded MP3s and CDs. Smaller than a business card, uber light. Many extra features, too - just make sure you use sports headphones and not the ear buds as they fall out too easily.

I love my K@ZOO! RCA distributes it. You can buy additional memory cards if you need more tunes! It was the best birthday present!

I think once you get one, you will love it.
It takes mine about 30 minutes to download all the songs.
Let us know how you make out

I am getting a FREE one, how cool is this! I just found out our cheapskate company is cutting off payment for us to participate in the Membership Rewards program via our corporate Amexes, so I wanted to use my reward points before I can't.....and I found the RCA RD1060, which seems to be the next step up from the K@zoo. It has a few more features and more initial memory without being much more in cost so I got that one. I'll let you know how it works when it comes.
FYI though, Satfix has the K@zoo also and really likes it.
