Posted: 01/04/06 - 15:30 Post subject: poll not poll: do i actually hate my job?
or am i just frustrated with the lack of direction/training, and non-marketing related work?
maybe i should say "dislike"...
anyway, are there any suggestions on how i could figure this out... if 'm being rational, or just stuck in a bit of a rut and frustrated.
constructive comments would help balance out the smartass remarks i'm sure i'm gonna get.
thanks.
Blue.

You mean you aren't a whiny pansy?
I think all jobs suck bloo, just milk the experience for a while, gather up a wad of money, build a shack in Montana and start living the good life.

i think you are really disappointed with your job. you are aimlessly sitting there, wanting direction from someone who doesn't exist....you're bored, brain farting, day dreaming, and thinking waaaaay too much about whether or not you like your job.
if you have to ask yourself "is this for me" more than a few times then i'd say no, it isn't.
how can you be in a rut already? people my age, with 25 years on the job, would most likely be the rut candidates. you, on the other hand, are in the starting gate, that's how you should feel. kinda revved. are you revved at all blue?
i think you need more responsibility.

not really revved... i'm supposed to be working on a reseller program. we've been a bit sidetracked, with myself doing all these setups and stuff. after this setup, i'm supposed to move on and finish the last bit of stuff for the reseller program - and hopefully that gets going.
when that program goes live i'll be responsible for it.
i think i could still get some experience in the short term... the computer work is killing me though.
if the reseller program sucks - i'm out for sure.

I like my work, its important to the economy and to individual people. In fact, its the most $$ I've made yet.
I'd really like to use my brain more. I think my neurons and synapses need more exercise.
On a side note: Having survived another Christmas season in the USPS, I just want to comment on the daily paradox of hearing Holiday music on the radios and watching Postal Emplopyees processing mail at a fever pitch
