Take it online and essentially teach myself?
Or
Take it in person and lose two more nights a week (already taking a 2 night a week class)
I have always done well at the chemistry classes I've had, but I can't decide how hard it will be to do this on the internet. Slightly scary actually but I also like the idea of having my nights.
Thoughts?

if you do do it yourself, mixing alcohol I believe does not equate to mixing chemicals though

Science classes online are really ugly. Suck it up and take it live. That's one you need for your degree so you really want to get a decent amount out of it, and a good grade. Can you take something else that you were going to take live online instead?

I'm taking Chem at some point, get to do it at home. I'm really looking forward to blowing up the kitchen.
I'd hate to be away from home for 4 nights a week, so I'd opt for the online thing myself.

Yeah, I'm afraid of how nasty it will be. But, my option of taking it live is from 7-10 Tue & Thur, forcing me to take my other class 7-10 Mon & Wed. Who comes up with these times??? I've always taken classes 5:30-8:30 and its really nice because you still have some time at night. But 7-10?? But online? Maybe I'll try to get ahold of the book and see how much of a repeat this class will be to chemistry I've had in the past, then make up my mind. I don't know.
Still thinking.

Forgive me, I'm sure I knew this before, but do you have kids? From one who does and who's gone 4 nights a week, I can tell you it can be done, they can be fine, but you have to readjust what you mean about things like "clean house" and "able to ID kid's teacher." These are things I've had to abandon.

What kind of "chemistry" are you taking? Some would lend itself to home study. Some would lend itself to being IN the home study.

Will your online work require you to work in groups? All of my husband's work for his MBA has been done online (UOP) and you are teamed up in groups. A large percentage of your grade is based on group papers and contributions to them. He has done well, but has "carried" many people through the course. It's a royal pain because he winds up doing most of the work or fixing the work if it's not done properly. I thought online courses would be a breeze until I saw all the time and effort that goes into it (when there are "slackers" on board).

Online, that way you can go at your own pace, and on your own time when it best works for you
