So 13% of Americans could find Iraq and only 10% could find the good ole USofA?

Quote:
One in 10 young Americans could not locate his own country on a blank map of the world, a survey of geographic literacy shows. Only 13 percent could find Iraq.

Teaching geography isn't nearly as important as teaching our children the answers to the standardized tests.

That's very scary. Shocked

If you took all the stupid people in the country and put them all in California, we'd sink into the Atlantic ocean for sure!

I was just watching National Geographic Today, before logging on. It was giving out stats about how bad our geography skills are. They said that 80% of Americans knew that Al Queda's ties were in Afghanistan but only 1 in 4 could locate Afg. on a map........more pathetic

Foreigners scored more accurately as to knowing the correct population of the US.....most Americans believe our population is over a billion.
