hello, i am 25 years old, 6foot 4 and 310 pounds. i have recently signed up for a corrections course which starts in one month. the course is 15 weeks long. at the end of the course i will be required to run 8 miles non stop. i have never been able to run more than a half mile without stoping short of breath. how can i prepare myself? any help is very appreciated

i guess a good place to start is having a look a the Couch 2 5k plan. there is a link to it somwhere in these forums, if you can't find it you should be able to google it, search for c25k.
