Are you all subjected to these in your jobs? A yearly "review" of your accomplishments and failures and then a new list of goals for you to achieve? Mine's this afternoon. I dread these stupid things even though it's the same stupid crapola year after year.

Yep, Jan 1 every year. My boss says the same things every year and my pay increase % has gone down every year. I expect big things the next one - I am working my a$$ off so far this year!

Once a year on my employment anniversary. We also have to do a self evaluation as well. I don't really care about the evaluation more about the Dollars

First 3 years, I was "observed" 2x during the school year. Now I am to be observed 1x. Sometimes the observation consisted of the principal bringing me the observation form and asking me to sign it.

Mercifully, those are usually done on Friday afternoons so you can get drunk on the weekend and forget all about them. Any other day you'd be walking around the rest of the week with your nose out of joint over anything you did not like about the review. They can't have that! Wink

Ech. I get one when they remember to do it. In la-la land, it is quite easily forgotten. I'm sure it doesn't have any thing to do with fumes coming from my lab on a regular basis.

What I don't like about them is that the appraiser is sooo unoriginal. They take someone else's appraisal, change names to protect the innocent, throw in a few things to make it sound like me, and submit. I think we should have reverse appraisals; I should get to appraise my boss too. THAT would make things interesting.

Please don't get me started on this. I am going to go sit in the corner and rock gently.

I just had mine, no surprises really. Boss loves me and says I do a great job but "could be a little less heavy handed" when trying to prod non-doers into compliance. Says the way you get something done is as important as that you got it done. (I know that probably SHOCKS you all....hehehe)

We actually had a nice chat but I am still not getting near as decent a raise as I should be after the hell I went through last year. But honestly, I know how this stuff works since I did the paperwork for our group last year, he does not have the final veto so no matter how hard your boss fights for you, the powers that be can still screw you over which is what's happening this year.....to most of us.

Oh well...on to the bar. I already told him no more 10PM worknights this year and he was actually OK with it. He's a good guy.
