Posted: 07/13/04 - 09:56 Post subject: pOLL/NOT POLL - Do you think this is a violation of privacy?
Ok, this situation occurred last week and I am just curious as to what people think. I've received some interesting opinions thus far, but I'm curious for others.
We had two of Larry's friend's in last week, along with the 13 year old sone of one. The one guy was a total male flesh pig, the other was about half of one.
We went to Key West and the MFP was taking pictures of random girls on the beach in what could be considered skeevy way, to me. I asked the guy what the hell he thought he was doing, and what he did with the pics, and he basically said he has a private file that he "looks at" and he also e-mails some to his friends. GROSS! I told him I thought that it was a violation of people's privacy to do that, besides just being desperate and creepy.
He said, "Well, it's a public beach, if you're gonna put it out there, what do you expect?"
If I ever catch someone doing that to me I'll kick their ass and their camera into the water.
What do all of you fine people think of this?

Morally wrong - Probably.
Legally wrong - Probably not. Their right to privacy ended the second they stepped foot on a public beach.

On a public beach, and on the beach proper (as opposed to a changing room), unfortunately, there would be no invasion of privacy. Just of good taste.
(but I would kick ass, too)

My opinion:
If you're going to look at porn at least buy a magazine so the girl you're rubbing one out over might have actually been paid for her time.

I guess it's legal....creepy and sad, but legal. If I thought about all smarmy creeps like him out there, I probably wouldn't go out in public.
I guess in one way or another, our privacy gets invaded every day....most of the time without us even knowing it. Janice

Yeesh what a slimeball! A file he "looks" at? uh huh... Him and Rosy study it intently..
Unfortunately you can't offer him the argument "you wouldn't want THEM doing that to YOU, would you..." cuz guys like that... well he'd just say "yeah if she wants it so bad she can have all she wants..."
Yup that's pretty creepy. No that's REALLY creepy...
