Unfortunately you can't offer him the argument "you wouldn't want THEM doing that to YOU, would you..." cuz guys like that... well he'd just say "yeah if she wants it so bad she can have all she wants..."
Yup that's pretty creepy. No that's REALLY creepy... |
A better question might be "What if that were your daughter?"

No offense, but the guy sounds like a "Forensic Files" waiting to happen.
That is something that stalkers do. They keep files of people's pics. What's scary is what if he starts obsessing about a certain girl and starts following her around exclusively?
Makes my skin crawl.

It sounds like with this weirdo, we may not want to know the answer!

Ain't no one taking a photo of me on the beach, that's for sure. I think at this point I'd be a bit flattered. Just kidding.
That is way creepy. Did he have a zoom lense?

Legally wrong - Probably not. Their right to privacy ended the second they stepped foot on a public beach. |

Well, it is creepy, and no he will NOT be at the wedding. Larry hadn't seen him in like 12 years before this visit. I guess he changed a lot.
I don't think he's "stalking", per se, it's wanker material, but it's nasty either way. Go buy a Hustler or something and be done with it. Creep.
And it's not so flattering to get asked to have your picture taken, especially when you know some guy is, as Alia so succintly put it, going to "rub one off" over it.

No, he didn't. He just did it. I had some asshat on the beach one day ask ME that. I told him "HELL, NO" and told him the bouncer at the beach bar would be summoned to toss his ass off the dock, onto the rocks if he tried it. I'm not sure which is creepier, the asking, or the not asking.

Yes, this is legal.
Same thing happened to me and RLAG this weekend at the Boilermaker as we sat on the grassy knoll with our postrace refreshments. Very creepy.

Friend???
Aquaintance???
Something sounds very "off" when I hear stories like this.
I think I'd be taking this guy off the Xmas card list (or at least Larry's).
Yikes!

you don't need that kind of aggravation...
they don't get quite as upset if you ask them to sign your model release form, tho... and then give them your card with "Professional Photographer" as your profession...
