Posted: 03/23/04 - 16:48 Post subject: on the menu tonight
I am going through one of my cooking phases right now, but instead of making gourmet snacks for the kids I am making the adults in this house tasty things to eat.
On the menu tonight:
pistachio stuffed mushrooms
Oyster mushroom soup with wild rice
corn fritters

I think it's homemade spaghetti. LC is pulling out all the Dave faves as he is here for the week.
Disclaimer: The above is not to be considered as a complaint about my wife's cooking. On the contrary, she is a very good cook. This does not apply to any meals she prepares involving onions. Onions are still the food of the devil, no matter who fixes them.

Well, for a dinner party next week I'm cooking:
Shrimp and Scallops in a butter, lemon and champagne sauce.
Fresh Fettucine in Alfredo sauce
Garlic bread: Get an unsliced loaf of Italian Bread. When you get home, cut one inch slices into the bread, careful not to cut all the way through. In each slice spread some garlic butter and a couple of slices of mozzarella cheese. Spread a little butter over the outside of the loaf, wrap in alum foil, bake about 20 minutes in a 350 oven..
Maybe a cheesecake.

Well so far it's been two bowls of some kind of locally made maple flavored granola cereal. That'll hold me over till my laundry is done and then I'll raid the leftover supply.

I had truffled clams casino (this would inlcude garlic butter, shallots, red roasted eers, nixed cheeses, and some sort of wine reduction). There's still a big fat greek salad in the refrigerator
On Thursday, larry is doing NC BBQ ork in the smoker/
