hockey equipment is highly underrated...

we had a great game of outdoor shiney on saturday. i can skate pretty well, i just can't turn or stop suddenly.

i have a massive welt on my arm - self inflicted from hitting the boards, and i could barely skate for a good five minutes after i fell straight on my kneecap...

my friend took a tumble and almost seperated his shoulder (then again he *was* slew footed)

another pal has a cut under his mouth - although that was directly related to an iceball throwing incident.

needless to say i think we're going to go invest in knee & elbow pads... i'm told helmets are a pretty good idea Shocked .

after the first hour the game normally deteriorates into that... the faceoffs just get ugly.


ps. when it's dark out you lose track of the person when they get within a certain distance, you can't see where their feet or stick is because there's no light at all - it's a good time for a collision.
