Many things are subjective, and those should either be obvious or explained as such when questioned. If there are sources that we have, we should use them or suggest where we found that information. That's a guide that i'd go by for documenting here.

If you can site where you got your 'facts', then the readers can then determine their opinions on the authenticity from there and/or do more reading on the subject, etc. Sounds reasonable to me.

anyone have transcripts from Limbaugh, Hannity, or Savage show????
let's debate authenticity of any of it. Just because it's in print, doesn't make it so. I'm sure I can find written documentation that the earth is flat.

Exactly. Then I can see that your documentation is jokesonyou.com and I can decide for myself that I don't believe it. Just provide your source is all I'm saying.

Rush is very open about his authenticity on statistics, fact and such. He'll debate that forever that his show contains 98-point something percent correct in quotes, stats and the like. But the conclusions he draws is where I'm sure you differ Sue.

And really, that's the bottomline. Two people here can be presented with the same set of 'facts' and draw totally different conclusions. Not right or wrong, but different. As long as you don't present yourself in the light of 'know-it-all' Clifford Clavin, go ahead and make conclusions, but presenting them as the be all and end all of being 'right' is what I think the real dilemma of internet bulletin boards is.

That's fine. If we know where someone gets their information from we can decide if it is a source that we trust. You may trust Hannity, I may not. But, this gives the opportunity to determine if a source is a government study with facts and figures behind it or if the source is a radio commentator who didn't back up his work. Maybe Hannity backed up his position with good citations. Maybe not.

Odds are I'll end up just saying that I don't have facts and figures which means you should take what I say with a grain of salt.

Mega, citations should be in MLA format. Wink
