slapped on some good old Bullfrog SPF 30 that has to be a couple 3 years old - got a bit sunburned - does that stuff get weaker over time?

The sunscreen I use is a couple of years old. Seems to work fine when I remember to put it on.

I actually think it might, but not as quick as 3 years, but I don't know. Also--how long were you out there? you need to reapply every hour or so to keep it working.

There is usually and expiration date on the botle/container somewhere. usually shown as month /year (EG: 05/06)

No, it just changes chemical qualities.

What you applied is now a fine mosquito attractor.

jk. But these things do change chemical qualities after awhile. That being said, I have a load of expired stuff I continue to use.

Maybe you have windburn.

I bought new sunscreen two weeks ago because I thought the old stuff wasn't working... the new stuff wasn't any better at soccer games. A friend enlightened me to the concept of windburn.

It does expire. I throw ours out every fall and then buy new in the spring. We go through a lot, but I never toss out more than 1/4 a bottle or so. I'm militant with the kids. Not so much with myself.

Dunno. He did say in his opening remarks that he slapped it on. Didn't say where, though.
