Those who need vision correction, anyway. Had the slice and dice .. um, LASIK ... yesterday. It's amazing how awesome I can see already! I went from legally blind without contacts/glasses to being able to see & read things from afar like TV, computer monitors, and my alarm clock. I haven't had 20/20 since I was 4, started wearing glasses at 8, and contacts at 12. After two serious eye infections in the last year I was told my body could no longer tolerate contacts, and I didn't want to spend the rest of my life in glasses so I coughed up the dough for the surgery.
Just a little blurry, but that might be because I just got up and I can't rub the sleepies out of my eyes. If you have been considering this procedure I can't rave enough ... run, don't walk, to get it done. It's money well-invested. On the way home from the surgical center yesterday I read the license plates on cars in front of me and nearly cried I was so happy. My doctor was ecstatic as well, and said my eyes looked so good I should recover more quickly than most people. WOO HOO! SIGHT IS GOOD!

Very cool! I remember the threads from last spring/winter discussing the pros/cons of lasik. Seems so long ago.
And Bam, you are WICKED.

I have talked to my eye doctor about it and will get it some day. But right now my vision is still changing so he wants to hold off.
It must be the best feeling to wake up, open your eyes and be able to see without having to fumble for you glasses. I hate doing that every morning.
Congrats!!

That is very !! After John broke one of the eyeglass dohickeys (the things that hold them on your head, earpieces maybe??) I told him he needed to get LASIK. His dad is an optometrist, but he's in Indy, we're here, and it took 3 weeks to get replacement pieces, so in the meantime we took apart another pair of glasses and replaces the earpieces. It was a pain. I poked a hole in my finger with that itty bitty screwdriver. Was it very expensive (not to be rude, just curious, really)? I'd love to be able to get him set up for that.
Anyhoo, I'm very excited for you!

I'm waitin' for Wiffle bat technology to advance far enough that Shelfie can take a swing at my head and knock the 20/20 back into focus.
Good to hear it turned out wondahful.
