maybe i'm just not looking hard enough.. but i didn't see anything in 2 pages of topics.
just wondering why no one is talking about it.
or maybe ya'll can't imagine the devastation either. word on the news is that 80% of the city is flooded.

I'm in Houston which is (normally) 5ish hours west, lots of people work between both cities as both are heavily involved in petroleum and since the west side of the storm is always the "cleaner side" a lot of Louisiana residents came here. And now they are stuck. A lot of Houston engineers, electricians, construction, EMT, etc headed east today to help out. And despite all that, I don't think even those in New Orleans even know the extent of what is there yet because of the lack of communication. All we are getting are really scary images from helicopters, and news that its only getting worse, not better. Very scary stuff.

i stand corrected on the lack of threads... i guess i was looking for the wrong titles.
i know we had some pretty big floods here - but it's always outside/around the city (we built a massive floodway thats saved the city probably on a few occassions), or along the river banks...
but i've never seen anything inside a city like that before. it's like a movie - so surreal.
