Posted: 07/27/06 - 10:11 Post subject: newest version of a shoe
Do you get the newest version of your current shoe if there is one, or would you stick with what you have if you like it? I've been happy with mine, the Brooks Addiction 6. I've found online there are the v6 for a great deal because apparently there is now a v7. Would there be a benefit of going for the newer version and assume they have made it better? Or just get another pair of what I have?
Thanks.

It a crap shoot, sometime better, sometimes not. I will usually stick with the old till I can't get it anymore then go to the newer one.

Yar. I just got the Asics Gel-Nimbus VIII and they are just not the same so I found a few last pairs of the VIIs hanging around here and there and snagged them.

I had the New Balance 765 not so long ago and when they upgraded to the 766 I found that the shoe didn't fit right in the heel. That's when I had to go to Brooks. The Adrenaline GTS 5 works and the GTS 6 works for me. But it's completely risky.

absolutely!!
my do the manufacturers f-up a good thing?
and, I don't think I'm imagining this, but I believe shoes are going the route of womens clothing. They are suddenly larger!!! My DH has worn nike pegasus size 11 for years and years. I just ordered a pair and he says "they're too big". I pull my 7 nikes out and I'm "you're right, I almost need a 6.5" last year I was debating about moving from 7 to 7.5 in most brands.

I'm thinking I will try to stay with the version I have since I've liked it. But....Aggg....apparently all the great deals are not in my size! I've yet to find it yet. Pooh. I may have to pay regular price.
I'm still searching though.........

Yes, thanks, and I can't find my size anywhere. Guess I'm going to have to suck it up and pay full price. Pooh. I was excited to get a bargain!

Well, I went back to froogle and gave it one more shot, looked at every darn result, and found some for $69 at trivillage.com. So that's better thatn $85-90.
Cool! Can't wait to get them, my old ones are spent!
