I bought new shoes that I like. I feel like I've bruised the top of my right foot, though. I've tried loosening the shoestrings... the other foot is fine. Also, is there a way to tighten up the heal area. I got the Asic Cumulus (naming shoes after clouds...GREAT marketing strategy) because not only are they a good cushion shoe but they also have a wide toe box. My foot is narrow, though, by the heal and I slip when I run. I'm wondering if this is what is causing the bruising on top of my foot. Confused

Thanks,

Shelly

I also have a narrow heel, but rather wide forefoot and the linked lacing technique that JRJO posted is what I use.

If you still have problems with forefoot tightness I'd suggest one or both of the following...

*replace insoles in cumulus with a pair from shoes that you ran in without problems...

*try skipping a loop over the part of the foot where you are feeling stress...
