A bunch of you have asked via PM, so for the rest of you here's the scoop: I was cleared to run yesterday! Dr. Nick, Knee Specialist to The Stars, said other than "noisy knees" that I've had forever that signal slight cartilege damage under the kneecap that may be helped with extra strength training, he could find nothing wrong. Seemed to think in VA I jammed it so well I irritated the bursa sac between the femur and the shinbone, and then really irritated it in Vegas. He was baffled why I had no swelling, so he thinks I have really strong ligaments, tendons, and muscles there which is good. The time off was all I needed to heal, apparently. Three weeks gone, but three weeks spent well.

I ran 4M today, 20 laps to the mile on the gym's basketball court before my swim workout. I did it slow because I had to (which nearly killed me) but I still did 4M. It felt GLORIOUS. No pain. Thus begins the ramp up for the half on 3/27.

Beaut that your back on deck, but running 20 laps to a mile on a basketball court would be tough on knees anyway and is not an ideal come back.
Did you at least run reverse laps every 5 or so?
Ever thought of pool/water running?
