A friend of mine is going through a major crisis at home right now, and I can do nothing for her. Communication is limited due to the situation, but she knows I'm here for her 24/7. I just wish I could do something to help her. It brings tears to my eyes cry that I can't.

How do you deal with stuff like this? Where you want to help another person so badly but cannot?

Send them neat little things in the mail. Space it out over a few days so it doesn't all arrive at once.

It lets them know you are thinking about them--even though you can't communicate any other way.

Nothing hurts like having to watch those you really care about suffer.

I'm sorry El.

Worry excessively, which I don't recommend. (I'm a pro worrier) Sorry Kid.

Just letting them know that you care is the best kind of support you can give. A little support goes a long way sometimes.

Tell her to dump that wife-beating bastage and find a women's shelter MUY PRONTO before he kills her. Then support her. It's tough breaking away from a dysfunctional situation when that dysfunction is all you know.

Sorry Elkid. I'm sure your friend knows your thoughts are with her, and that will mean a lot. Otherwise, your hands are tied, so don't beat yourself up too much over that. I'm sure that would upset your friend more.
