Posted: 03/25/03 - 21:52 Post subject: my girlfriend was in washington today...
apparently there is *quite* the large number of cop cars around the war memorial...
i've yet to here the condition of the white house lawn though, i'll get that call tonight.
kind've an interesting time to go on an American History trip no? philley is next, then boston then the big apple.
cleveland was a bore i hear
(though they have learned the adage of "know who's on the other side of the door before you knock on adjoining rooms"... quite the angry lad he was)

That's usually all I get out of my husband's trips, too. He gets to go to the coolest places on earth.

oh and i forgot to update...
so, my girl and her friend walked to the white house today (around to the front)... snipers on the roof... snipers in the windows... here a sniper there a sniper.... everywhere a sniper... pretty intense...
some czech lady almost got in a fight when this couple walked by and hit her sign saying "go back to where you came from..."
tension me thinks...

Sound like a great trip Chris. D.C. is great because there is so much to do for free, museums and the like.
Philly has rich colonial history also.
NYC well, nothing beats that.
Just don't go to the Bronx and run with Monk.

I hope she's having a wonderful time.
I was in DC on September 11th. Things were a little tense then too. Lots of "uniform" presence. Airehead would have swooned at every corner.

tension me thinks... | So a czech lady is in DC protesting the US being in Iraq while Canadians are visiting... does anyone else see the irony here?

i'm a little antsy that the hotel lobby phone dude referred to them as "the canadians"... they only checked in this morning.
maybe he's just being sure it's not the french ones
i'll leave a new york update once i get a report from her. philley was fairly wet i hear though...
and of course there is the classic "you went to see the lincoln memorial and you're talking about tiffanys?" and she says "if the was a store full of bobble heads and you saw the.... what memorial was it again?" *sigh* learning lots i see. lol. somedays i have to wonder...
