Shannon in the race reports...love it!! Good thinkin' on going for some speed before tackling the big distances, you'll be glad you did.
Was the Corgi running? Curious if they're a good runner dog...

Way to go Shanners!!!!! Feels great to have that first one under your belt, no?? Excellent job, girl--you are gonna smash that baby in your very next race!
Smart strategy too--getting really good at one distance will build your confidence for more.

Thanks for the support, everybody. I went out on the weekend and bought athlete groceries (the carb loading Friday night with Burger King was wrong on so many levels ) and now I'm doing the tuna and whole wheat pasta thang. Come Oct, I"ll probably still be slow, but buff!

Great job Shannon! That's a pretty hot race for this time of year in BC. Down here on the coast its a low 18-21 degrees celsius (in Vancouver) and it's mostly cloudy to partly sunny with some showers.
