I finally have a cd burner and would like to download some music. I know this has been asked before but where do you download from, Kazaa? How easy is that? What is the format like? and how much will it suck to use it with my dialup?
And on a sort of related note, does anyone know what softward (preferably free) would convert WMA (or whatever you would upload a CD song as) to an MP3?
thanks!

I like it better, plus no pop-ups or spyware.
As for software, You should have received something with the burner. There is really nothing to it. You just choose the songs you want and the software does the rest.
When you download songs, be sure the rate is at leat 128kbs, otherwise you won't be able to put it in a cd for a cd player, but only as an mp3...

My dad actually gave me his old burner from his office computer, so I'm not sure I have much in the way of software with it. I think he might have thrown in Easy cd creator, but I don't think it does any file conversion if I remember correctly.
I think what I used last time was music jukebox something.... musicbox jukebox....I don't know...I need to call my dad I guess.

It is a program that mascarades as something else, but really tracks what you do on the internet, what sites you visit, et al.

yeah, it really concerns me when it supposedly targets the websites i go to, and the vast majority of my pop-ups are singles adds, and porn sites...
big brother is listening. and various other scheming little buggers.
