It was STUPID. It was FUNNY...It was stupifunny and I loved every fricken minute of it!
I saw this last night and pretty much laughed straight through the movie. Now having said that, it's no Napolean Dynamite (directed and co-written by Jared Hess who did napolean). The humor is similar though...how it's more focussed in on the silly dialogue and facial expressions rather than the actual physical humor (although the wrestling scenes are fantastic).
The clear scene stealer is the 'eskelador', Nacho's sidekick. There's too many scenes to try to explain but I'll just say that any time there's a corn cob present, you WILL. Laugh!
"git that corn outta my face!!!"
If you don't like movies like Napolean or any of Wes andersen's movies (life aquatic, rushmore etc), then you probably won't like this.
But if you're cool and funny like me, it's gonna be a riot!
Oh and Roger Ebert hated it saying 'where are the punchlines'? He also didn't like Napolean... That should be your motivation to go.

We saw it on opening day and laughed our azzes off.
PG, very clean.
"I don't believe in God, I believe in Science"
"Why haven't you been baptized? Um, I guess I just haven't gotten around to it..." SPLASH!

The 'sneaky baptism scene' killed me!
But in the end, it was the SOARING EAGLE move that really made the movie, no?

I thought his love song to Incarnation was the bomb:
"I ate some bugs
I ate some grass
I used my hand
to wipe my...tears
...Incarnation!!!!"

When nacho says 'take-it-easy!!!' to Ramsies before the match?
I think I said that 200 times to Joy yesterday...

I think I said that 200 times to Joy yesterday... | My son has been saying it, too.
What about when he's convincing the kids about the evils of wrestling? I wake every morning at 5 am to make soup and it's nice. I go to bed every night in a bed all by myself...It's fantastic.

That's Joy's favorite part "XoxxOOxoX"...
I like when that big girl was chasing eskelador all over the house...when he's upstairs looking at that doll...and he says "How'd you get up here so quick?!!!!"
(I'm just realizing if you haven't seen this, this isn't very funny to you...)

(I'm just realizing if you haven't seen this, this isn't very funny to you...) | Aire Jr was talking about this at lunch yesterday.
You remember the quilted suit he sewed for that party?

XXOOxXoOxxOO was so funny. It all was great, yet very Napolean. I saw it Sunday afternoon, and we spent the rest of the afternoon trying to find all the music.
