The other PE guy and I had a meeting with the principal today...it seems that the 5th and 6th grade classes she had us planned to teach next year would have over 40 students in them!
I can handle alot. 40 PE students at once, I don't think one person can handle. Not at that age.
She wanted our reccommendations...do we want an aide for those classes? etc...
We replied that I should be made full-time, and that the other guy (school's AD) could come and be my partner teacher during those classes.
She is taking it to the super. Said she can't promise anything, but that is what she's recommending...and also what she thinks is best.
This would mean much more financial stability for the coach family.

I'm surprised you aren't full-time now. And not because of the succesful buckets season you had, either.

well, it was one way the school tried to save money.
When the old pe teacher quit...instead of opening a new position...they opened a 3/5th's position...and made the AD teach 2 days a week. He's swamped...he's really unhappy with the situation.
We're basically just asking them to go back to the way it was before.

They know a great teacher when they see one. You'll be full time by Sept!
