I'm getting ready to have The Body Talk with Goette Une, and I'm wondering if there's not a good book you could recommend that she read first. Thanks.

I've heard of that one. Is it good even for adults?

No, it was that Quincy was tall and merciless.

Actually Pebbs and I had the talk with all three years ago and suprisingly they are all well adjusted.

I dunno... I just tell them things as the subject comes up. They're 7 & 9, and I can't really think of anything except the minute DETAILS that they don't know, from periods to sex.

Yeah, Libby has that one, The Care and Keeping of You. It's a good one. You can hardly go wrong with any of those books from American Girl. There's a whole slew of them at B&N on everything girls need to know.

We did the sex/babies-come-from-here-talk when she was 5.

Of course, there's always "Hello God, It's Me, Margaret" (or similar title) by Judy Blume, doesn't she talk about periods in that one?

I didn't have the period talk w/ Libby until they addressed it in Health class last year (she's 12 now), then I told her what she wanted to know (just talked about it basically since she was worried at that point). We talked about development too I think.

Good luck! I know you'll do well.
