Cleveland Councilman Arrested For DUI, Resisting Arrest
NewsNet5.comCLEVELAND - A Cleveland city councilman was arrested Tuesday for drunken driving and resisting arrest. NewsChannel5 learned that Councilman Zack Reed was picked up by Cleveland police at 2:11 a.m.
Officers stopped Reed when they saw his red BMW pull out of a parking spot on St. Clair Avenue between West 3rd and West 6th streets and go left of center over double yellow lines, WEWS reported.
Reed underwent a field sobriety test, which officers said he failed.
While he was being handcuffed, he allegedly attempted to struggle with officers, but they were able to arrest him and take him to the city jail.
Reed has always been an outspoken member of Council representing Ward 3, WEWS reported.
It's no secret that he had been talking about a run for mayor of Cleveland, and he's been a proponent of keeping city funding in the neighborhoods.
Reed is also chairman of the Public Safety Committee, pushing for tougher standards for city vendors such as neighborhood ice cream truck drivers.

Is there a law in Ohio, that if you are an elected official you must drink and drive. Sure seems like a lot of them are doing this lately

Julian's brother Joaquin, the alleged "stand in" is a state representative. They do look a lot alike but I saw an interview with both of them and I think it was a legit screw up on the part of the parade people, not an intentional deception.

It is a law in Ohio that if you have a Divers Lisence you must drink and drive. has nothing to do with being elected.

A divers license is all that is needed to drive a car.
