Posted: 05/31/06 - 06:43 Post subject: let the good times pass <vibes requested> UPDATED
ok, so after moderate activity my right kidney hurts. the right ureter (tube descending from Kidney to the bladder) has a stone that is shaped like a disc lodged in it. It's been there for a month now and most of the time is un noticeable......however now it's becoming more and more frequent AND it's getting to new levels of pain as well that even the pain killers are having problems contending with.
Last night i called up the practice nurse for her opinion about an ER visit and she figured theyd not do anything different. and thankfully the pain subsided while on the phone with her. we are going in and trying to get this rock removed though by force...possibly today even if they OK it.
so be ready for the possibitly of some new Drugged Dialing.
<<<<<<<<<<UPDATED>>>>>>>>>>>
ok, i feel a lot better in the kidney area...it's amazing how used to discomfort you can become. The absence of the back pain is terrific. now the other end of the whole urine stream is another matter i'm doing a lot better, but dizzy and light headed from unable to eat and from anemia. I had no idea i was anemic until i looked at the labs but that can explain a lot of why i've been feeling drained for me. We'll have that issue taken care of real quick and i'll be to my normal hyper self.
I want to thank everyone for the well wishes and concerns and the PM's now if only i could get a BM. <ba da bump crash>

So I planned a bit ahead and had Miss Steph drive me into work. good thing too i was there for an hour when i was told to call in a replacement for me i'd be in Pre-op within the hour. Well i had lost my paper with Steph's work number and i had to try to remember it by memory. I never call her there....well almost never i did today. So I was in Same Day Surgery around 10:00 and i got a minor operation about 4pm. I had a great set of nurses that was both professional and major cut-ups and we were joking up back an forth most of the day...especially after receiving pain management meds.
It looks as if Jen might have to worry....i'm on bedrest for two weeks......we all know how much i can post in two weeks.
weak hearted need not precede
so the basic of what was done.... I was put out via general anesthesia and a camer was inserted up the urethra thru the bladder and up into the ureter until it met the stone. there was a kind og snare basket of whick they had used to grip the stone. they then inserted a teflon catheter into the ureter and pulled the stone out thru that. So i wake up and they say i need to pee before i can be discharged. OK no problem (yeah right) first thing i notice is that there are two threads sticking out of a whole that there shouls not be....second thing i notice is the sheer frikkin pain upon urinating I guess they sutured the catheter in place. so every time i pee i wake up....a full wake up and no caffine required. apparently i can make my own cherry Kool-ade now too.
so add more memory to the server PH....the boy has to occupy some time.
