that's what I should be doing right now; throwing a little tantrum. my principal has just taken my prep period from me. I've been recruited to stand in front of the cafeteria during an awards assembly and pass out the certificates to the students as he reads them.
now, that's not a terrible thing to be doing. but most of my cow-orkers would be having a fit because they had to give up their prep (even on the last full day of school.)

I'd be making faces behind the principal's back, causing mayhem and confusion. He'd never "volunteer" me again.

same situation at Christmas when it was one day before our break and a teacher was angry with me because I couldn't relieve her for her prep during the Christmas program. I was in charge of the program and she was mad because she lost her prep. today's the last full day of school, but there will be a few teachers upset if they don't get their 35 minute break.
what do I have to prep for? just need to pack up this room.

My husband teaches HS on a four block schedule - which means his "planning period" is over an hour long.
And since it would be impossible for him to change classrooms (as it is located in a seperate building with the, well, duh, shop) and he's tenured, he never has to pack up his classroom, office or anything.
