Pumpkin Pie Breaks Quarter-Ton Mark

HOLLAND, Mich. -- Eight bakers in Holland have created a six-foot-wide, 678-pound pumpkin pie.
They used 50 pounds of flour, 90 pounds of brown sugar, 660 eggs and 200 pounds of pumpkin pie filling.
Also on the ingredient list were 26 pounds of shortening, 660 cups of evaporated milk and 41 cups of maple syrup.
The pie is due to be unveiled tonight at a senior citizen apartment complex.
The pie was made by a crew from the Alpen Rose restaurant. It took six to eight hours to bake.
