or ticking....
the computer that is. it crashed this morning, I brought it back up. I'm hoping to make it last through the summer, maybe into late september. Right now though, it is ticking; about every 20-30 seconds I hear a very slow tick-tock.
no error messages though. that's a good thing, right?

There's always a "calm before the storm".

My old computer used to crash if I had too many windows open. Even now I find I have a habit of keeping less than four windows running at a time. Then the second one started sounding like a diesel tractor right before the hard drive quit.

Ticking from the case? Could just be a fan.
Could be the hard drive though. There's only a couple of moving parts inside the case.

it's the hard drive. I've just been down for about 12 hours now. on a few of the reboots I got an error message that said "Unknown Hard Error" I tried a few times this morning, and finally got it to run, but who knows for how long?
Leaving tomorrow so I won't be using the comp for a week, then I'll look into ordering the new hard drive. Tigerdirect.com here I come!
