An excuse, yes, but I'm guessing they won't if he has sh*t on them and I'm guessing he has protection under the whistleblower's act.

I won't disagree with you MW but... why give them an excuse ? Illegal firing or not, its a lot of work to rectify the situation.

From what i have read and interpeted from the HIPPA classes and privacy act this is not a violation. I have also taken safegaurds in case my laptop or stolen or hacked. nothing is stored on the computer but instead on MSN's servers under my account.
everything is still work related and intended for work uses only so once again no issues there. as far as property nothing has been taken, everything has been turned into reports instead. no records have left the building at all.
