I admire your courage to stand up for what is right, and to defend the rights and laws protecting those who cannot do so for themselves.
In case you were not aware, that is refered to as Honor

below is an excerpt from said letter. it has been edited to leave out names. it is the latter part of the letter explaining last nights incedence.
| Quote: | It is also obvious that after 2+years that Dr. XXXX still has not familiarized himself or his staff regarding the Medicare procedures. I would like to place him on report but uncertain who would be appropriate, ethics or compliance. His attitude towards the coding issues is a major problem for getting this location up to date and within standards. Even by what Compliance had stated in a June meeting of 2004 it is now a negligent issue, he has been informed, he has been givien ample time to comply to established governmental regulations. It has been apparent to me that any change towards compliance has been slow if at all. I am trying to keep federal agencies out of it and hoping that the matter can be resolved internally. It so far has not proven possible. Why am I so adamant on this? It is possible to provide better medical care for the patients while being within compliance. A lot of these patients are deciding between health and food, but that does not appear to be an issue for Dr. XXXX A lot of these patients are not receiving tests that could be health concern if they do not have it. I think taking a little bit of time to provide QUALITY medicine over QUANTITY medicine would be preferred by the administration but that does not seem to be the case.
Sincerely
Charles R. Opperman |

Whatever you do, be sure to keep a detailed contemporary log/diary of your efforts in this case. Log all your phone calls and meetings and add a short synopsis. Be sure to make hard copies of your memos since they tend to "mysteriously dissappear" when the guano starts flying. Whatever you do, do nothing that is against your employer's policies.
I strongly suggest you talk to a labor lawyer about your rights in this matter. This will be well worth the money at a later date.

You'd better check company policy on this. This could be considered "proprietary material" or a violation of HIPPA. Then they have an excuse for firing you.
