It seems like it has the same stuff in every issue...while sometimes entertaining, I think I want something else, or in addition to. Should I try Running Times? I've never even seen that magazine, but I just checked out the website. It appears to be more technical and less fluffy.

I enjoyed RW for a long time, but then it seemed like they had recycled stuff in every new issue. I got bored with it.

It was really great when I was a brand newbie. It was very encouraging and fun to read. I still like to read the tales of triumph they occasionally have.

I bought a grand total of three issues of Runner's World before I realized they were all the same.

I like the mag even though they repeat a lot. They seem to live in the past a lot.
They treat the BM like it is the ultimate in running
They have a lot of runne/contributors who live a lot in their past and always remind us of that they were "once was's" (Henderson, Galloway and Burfoot).

Liz Applegate is likely the most consistent in far as new information.

They seem to write for a more broad audience.

Running Times is a bit more scientific and technical in IMHO a better mag

I only keep subscribing to RW because it is 20 bux a year

I subscribe to both. I like both of them, but Running times is a bit more advanced. Still, RW is like having the same type of conversation with an old friend. It's comforting.

I liked Running Times better, more because it had less ads for their own products/services, and it had better technical info

Oh good, I'm not the only one. I get that "living in the past" feeling too. I think it's a great mag for beginners though. Yeah, I'll probably still keep subscribing, but I'll check out Running Times too.
Thanks!

They keep sending me notes to resubscribe....but I think I'll let it lapse. I'm pissed they never give me my free gift every year that they promise! Hubby rolls his eyes at me. He's like "what, Sue it's like $20 a year". I have running times now and we get every triathlete magazine in existence. The only articles I ever read were Ed Eyestones.....and they are too few and far between.

Running Times is better, but without RW, I'd miss half the gripes told on internet running boards.

There was an online "goodbye" from Joe Henderson a few weeks back. Apparently his last article is coming up and he won't have a "goodbye" in the magazine. Sounds like a big shakeup. Burfoot, Galloway & Henderson won't be mainstays going forward. There's some new columnists coming on, so it'll be interesting to see the next few months which way it goes.... I'm kinda worried myself because Henderson did say Bingham was willing to stay on with the new direction, so it might become Waddle World or something similar Shocked Wink

I outgrew it a while ago, but there is a partner here who likes to support my endeavors in running who gets me a gift sub every year.

I just pass 'em along.
