this is worse then the Kobe Bryant deal...

this is just tragedy. i don't even know what to make of it. his face is on the new NHL 2004 game that came out and i can't help but think that he's never going to be the same...

it hurts to be a hockey fan right now. the boy could end up in jail...

it's hitting a lot harder in canada. the front coverage on espn is all world series... any canadian sports channel will be opening with Heatley tonight.

young hockey player. mvp of the all star game last year in his 2nd year.

fully living to his potential, skills like wayne gretzky or mario lemieux.

and alcohol was not a factor.

Nope just plain stupidity. It's a shame.

I am. Sad

Word is that Heatley's injured worse than what's being reported. Also, he's now going to be charged with 1st degree vehicular homicide.

One man's already dead, and so's Heatley's career, essentially.

What a mess! A few moments of guy fun and high spirits and the lives of two people (and all the people their lives touch) in ruins. Such a shame...

I've only been a hockey fan since my Canes moved to town. I remember when our team lost Steve Chaisson in a drunk driving accident in 1999.
I saw a couple of the games against the Thrashers and Heatley is FUN to watch. I think the whole deal is just sad.
