Scratched screen
Has this been fixed? Mrs TB wants an ipod. Do I go with the mini or get the nano?

Do these things work?
I have been reading the reviews on Amazon and half say the crap out within a few months. For all the models I have looked up so far.

My wife has a mini. She loves it and has never had a problem with it. She uses it daily, both in the car and at the gym.
When the nano was released, Apple discontinued the mini. I'm sure you can still find them, but they'll get more scarce as inventory goes.
There were reported problems with the screen on the nano within days of its release. Some of the issues I've seen with iPods in general have been related to battery life, but we haven't experienced that either.
I have a shuffle that I use when I do yardwork, so it doesn't get daily use. It's great, and I've never had a problem with it.
To be fair, we have a Mac system we use with our mini/shuffle, and we use iTunes. I can't speak to the compatability or ease of use of either with a PC.
I know a few people who have a Rio. They swear by them.
Hope this helps.
