Have you heard of this? Have you tried it? I don't even totally get it, but my parents just switched their landline over to Vonage Is this the wave of the future? And can someone explain it to me??

Haven't heard of internet phone companies 'til now.

We have a broadband cable connection at home and when we've used Yahoo Messenger voice with neighbors having the same connection, it was incoherent garble. I think you need some high end hardware or something, 'cuz it didn't work for us on YM.

My parents got their landline number and everything moved over. I call the same number and it sounds crystal clear. The only glitches they ran into was the phone connection with the alarm system (which they fixed I think) and occasional weak signal from the internet to where the phone system itself forwards the call to another number (in my parents' case its their cellphones). And something is up where its rolling to their cellphones fairly often this week. But from what I've read its the new thing....still a little too technical/fancy for me.
