I can swim long distances. Once I manage to find the perfect pace for me I can go on swimming “forever”. Even my friends are amazed with my endurance. I would like to increase my speed. I am not sure how to do it so any suggestion would be most welcomed. Thank you.

Sprinting intervals, if done properly can work wonders for speed and power. You have to combine them with regular swimming. You can start doing intervals 2 times a week and gradually work up to 3-4 days a week. At the beginning you should do some 5 intervals per session. Then you can increase the number slowly and work up to 8-10, 12 at most, per session. If done properly they are very demanding so don’t overdo it since you may end up over trained which will take you further from your goal.
