i start my first shift at my new job.
(assuming i don't miss any bus connections)...
i wonder if it'll be a short orientation kind of day, or if it'll be the "couple hours" first day that turned into an 8 hour shift at my last job.
i'm off. no slackin' on the computer at my job.

How much orientation do you need to wash a car? You'll put in a full day today, blue.

He probably has to go through a lot of company red tape on safety and workplace conduct.

actually today i was in "whipe down". the final stage. given the amount of cars they move through (today was insane supposedly) they have about 20 people working at each end of the job... it's nuts.
oh and yes. yes it sure was a full day. in fact i had to tell them that i had to leave because no one told me i was working a full day (they said "orientation" not a f*cking 8 hr shift - you'd think they'd have the decency to let you know in advance). i told four different team leaders that i needed to scoot at 3 (i had plans for the evening that i couldn't break), the one guy said "i was going to keep you until 330 why do you need to go?" (in a condescending kinda way) and i'm like "because no one told me i was working a full day and i have places to be tonight, any other night is fine, but i wasn't given any notice whatsoever, and i need to leave at 3." apparently he decided it was still ok for him to keep me til 330.
isn't there like a rule against that? i mean for one, it's not his place to tell me i have to stay for a shift no one told me i was going to be working. and two you'd think people could be a little more courteous. a heads up would have been appreciated.
at any rate, i start my regular turn on monday 10-630 (weather pending, maybe longer maybe shorter), all the way through saturday. but if i hit my 40 hrs during the week they don't bother to bring you in on the weekend. so that's good. hopefully i can last, the work is very constant. (granted today i was on 3 hours of sleep).
*crosses fingers for dad to pull through on his deli deal* lol i'll work til christmas and hit the bricks. i need the money to badly right now.
