Posted: 05/30/06 - 12:44 Post subject: impressions of Canadian people
I know you can't make a totally accurate opinion in a few days......but hey in a long weekend I saw a doctor, a massage therapist, and met a podiatrist, as well as my DH's coach.
but anyway, I was really impressed with the knowledge of these people. In comparison to the states, it really seemed as they were driven more by pride in their professions than the $$. I'm moving to Canada (nonFrench speaking preferably--they really don't like us, eh?)

hmmm........you do bring up a good point. I might not fit in
I didn't want to praise the doc too much because of my DH. It was kind of funny, him saying "we're in Canada, you can't see a doctor whenever you want". The clinic had one doctor working his butt off. It was funny though that here I am I walk-in and the receptionist says it'll be 45 minutes, I'm like "hey, not bad". Yet, Canadians came in and complained about the wait. At one point I heard the receptionist's side of a conversation "Hello" "it's about 45 minutes" "there's ALWAYS only one doctor" "what the hel! do you expect, it's a walk-in clinic????????"
And only $50 for an office visit????

Wow that is amazing. I wouldn't mind waiting 45 min. at all. I've waited in the ER for several hours to the tune of hundreds of dollars too. Maybe Canada ain't so bad.

American - Theater. Hoser* - Theatre.
American - Center. Hoser - Centre.
American - Color. Hoser - Colour.
It's like they have a different word for everything!
* If I had to keep spelling 'Canadian' each time, my fingers would cramp up.
