We definetly have to thank you, Mr Nader, his ego and his 90K Florida votes for helping candidate Bush "win" in that state. Its amazing to me how very few Democrats/liberals mention this. I think Mr Nader deserves some of the "blame"...
As for the election itself: Democrats have to field a candidate who is palpable to the majority of Americans, not just "Americans who hate Bush". (Like it or not, that is NOT a majority opinion) If they nominate someone who appeals to a wide spectrum they will have a decent chance. If they nominate a "screamer" then we will all definetly see four more years of Pres Bush.

Great thing about politics is you can never tell. One day, President Bush will be a shoe in, the next, he's behind by a ton. Of course, I'm convinced that pollsters only call people who don't vote so who knows!

that is pretty standard especially since he is the front runner. Wait until after each convention also the nominee usually has soaring numbers also
let's see in a few days.

all true, a lot can change between now and election day...but I was responding to her question about what would happen if the election were held tomorrow...
still believe this is going to the wire...and as long as the economy remains lackluster and Iraq remains a quagmire, I give the Dem nominee a helluva lot better chance at winning then most around here...

No they were in the desert for 40 years because they did not do what the bush told them |
This time around i think i'll vote for someone not from the Natural Law Party. It's said, but i can't even remember the name of the dude i voted for last time.

You are the first person I have ever known who ever voted for anyone from the Natural Law party!

I should know better
If the stock market is any kind of indicator.. this past year has been pretty good, no? A Dow at 10500 is lackluster?

too early to tell....a month ago, i'd said Bush was a shoe-in....as the Dems massacred each other. But for some reason, Kerry appears to be gaining. Money helps...it helped the Bushes. If it is Kerry vs Bush....my vote will be much easier for hubby to swallow ---I can't vote for someone that always takes the piggyback and never gives one.

well in IMHO, it's the job market...not the stock market...
stock market doesn't mean squat if you were effected by 1 of the 3 million jobs that have sucked out of the economy since bush took office...while the loss has stabilized there is still no growth there...when are those jobs coming back? does bush even have an economic plan to bring them back?
(and then there is that 500 billion dollar deficit)...

Good to know. I suspect i'm going to vote for a major party candidate this year, depending on how the nominations go. I love minor parties, though, i wish more people gave them a look rather than going with the dem/rep thing.
