i would rather finish than quit
i once bonked so bad in a tri..but i still finished only for the principle of it
12 people quit, they still finished behind me officially, i was only the last finisher.

midpackers are not bad....nothing to prove just running against yourself

Don't feel bad RR. You'll always have lots of company being a mid-packer. I hear those elite guys/gals get pretty lonely running up at the front all by themselves.

PH has a good point. I train primarily alone so it is always nice in a race, particularly the longer ones, to pick up another turtle for company. I always seem to pick the out-and-back ones, and I notice that even the next group after the leaders is always alone.....granted, they have way less time to BE alone than I do, but I really enjoy the company and meeting cool new people, I think I would miss that.

Thanks for the visual, smarty-pants!! Razz
