i've never read it before, and there wasn't anything particularly eye catching about this issue. for some reason i thought i'd give it a whirl and see if i caught any pointers or advertisements for shoes (product knowledge for moi).
anyhoo - still haven't read a ton of it it...
but i found it severely odd that the opening advertising spread was for a Cadillac Escalade.. i'm not too entirely sure how many runners would feel like buying one of those on a whim... very random.
i hope the boston marathon feature is good. there is also a 5k and 10k training program somewhere in there and i'm wondering if that'll help at some point...
i get the feeling it won't be worth the money.

I don't think it is. I had a year subscription and I ended up not even reading the last few issues. I find it's typically geared to part-time runners, not serious competitive runners that are trying to really grind out faster race times. About the only part I really enjoyed was the runs in other cities, because I like to travel and wouldn't mind running in some of the cities I visit, but even this section was very small and they only listed a couple of runs. The whole magazine (as are most magazines) is just a lot of fluff.

looks like it might go that way... i will say that i almost always enjoy my Men's Health magazine. there's always *something* worth reading.
but i have low expectations. so hopefully i get something out of it (if anything i learnt that Avia shoes are actually advertised, and not just some cheap 'no-name' type brand that my store carries )

I'll read RW if it's sitting some hwere but I won't pay for it anymore. I think Running Times is better. I also like Men's Health. It always has something good to look at in it. I mean read, yeah, that's what I mean.

I don't even bother looking at RW unless its at a barber shop. I can get lots of the info in there on line.
I have found I get more info out of local sports oriented publications. Wether its running classes or tips or whatever they seem a bit more appropriate for me. Boston has an excellent little sports magazine I wish I could get more frequently.
