Several hunting safety experts interviewed agreed it would have been a good idea for Whittington to announce himself. But every expert stressed that the shooter is responsible for avoiding other people.

...unless you're the vice-president of the U.S. In that case, someone else must be found to take the responsibility. Seriously, has anyone heard or read anything about Cheyney making a public statement yet?

It was truly an unfortunate accident. But considering the recent news about Whittington, will the veep make another remark about "death throes"? Whittington probably welcomes that kind of news.
