I went out and got a cat without conferring with him.  In my defense, we usually hover around the four cat mark and we have had three for over six months. I like my pets in pairs; it creates balance in the universe.
He's not so mad anymore; after nearly ten years I like to still keep him guessing from time to time!

Shannon gets bonus points for adopting a lovey this month. 
our Humane Society is running these ads for adopting kittens and puppies due to the overcrowded shelters. i can't even watch the thing  Please don't buy a cat or dog. adopt one to save it's life. makes me feel like a true idiot seeing as how i have a pedigree cat.  i have a shelter cat too.

Critter tally:
2 horses
2 dogs
4 cats
I am a bleeding heart when it comes to a critter with a sad story. This cat belonged to a young woman who had to give her up because she and her parents were moving into an apartment. In the whole family, they have three cats and a dog that they have to find homes for. I got the impression it was due to financial problems.
