you own planes?
i'm wondering how me and my girl are gonna handle are finances... i've heard the "you have your money i have mine" and splitting the other stuff, but oi, our spending habits are different.
i don't think 200-300 is too bad... but if she's bringing home new end tables every week or something... then it could get pricey pretty quick.
i think people should generally talk about what they are gonna buy for their house if they are both supposed to use it. just so that it's both of theirs.
but if she came home with some useless wierd $100 bottle opener - even though it's not too much, it'd still be a friggin waste of money.
follow up question - have you ever had to override a spouse's purchase?

If the money is being spent on groceries or clothes or something like that then we don't consult each other. I think I've spent up to $200 at Costco before without consultation. However, if I go out and buy a $200 piece of jewelry then I better be consulting first.
