Okay, I realize I'm in one of the warmer climates of RRers around...so I know I'm a wuss with weather. There is a 5 miler I was wanting to do Saturday and I'm now thinking of bailing because it will be 35-40 degrees with a 50% chance of rain that sounds like a prescription for hypothermia for me. I can't even think right now what to wear in that scenario. Rain when its warm? Sure! Cold? Okay. COLD AND RAIN?? what would you do? Bag it and take the treadmill 5 miles or tough it up and do it? (I can already hear Jrjo barking like Tim Allen ready to give his 'caveman runneth' solution of not only running it but in a shorts only )

When I ran in Indianapolis in late winter, I ran in cold & rain, temps you described. I loved it, never regretted it.
I say run.

wuss.
I'd run it. I hate the cold, but 35-40°F isn't too bad even if you're wet.

Yeah, I mean, I used to run in cold in Kentucky, but I don't remember it at all.
Okay then all you hardcore people, is there such a thing as too hot for you to run? (maybe I can throw some 'wusses' the other direction now)

I really only ran in the mornings, but I always made sure I had plenty of H2O before during and after

Agreed. I ran today and the temp was right about 35 degrees F. It was almost tropical!
Sorry but...wuss!

It depends on how much the race means to you. If its just an average race, I'd probably bail because it's just miserable weather. I wouldn't let it keep me from running a race I really wanted to run though. And if you've already registered... you're a wuss for bailing.

35 isnt bad. 40 getting good. Last race I ran it was 40 and raining. I wore tights with a long sleeve shirt and a vest. I never got cold until I was done and was standing around waiting for the results.

Those temps, no problem. Those temps and rain would suck. You won't be cold if you can stay dry until you start and then you'll be self heating once you start running.
