did you know that on a 2 hour run, you will burn 132 POUNDS of ATP (thats about 60 KILOGRAMS for you non-non-metric system folks )
im not sure that i can even fathom that. 130 pounds of a tiny molecule ? sheesh.

I learnt the gory details of fat/lipid digestion and metabolism today and yes, our muscles do burn fat for energy (fat yields more energy than carbs!)..but if we don't exercise, the fat's not metabolized and is stored as adipose tissue which of course is what gives you the extra unwanted pounds

I find it really interesting to think about things like that, it sort of bends your mind a little. Bonds made/broken with a cumualative weight of 132 pounds but no net gain/loss that could be measured by a scale.

yeah, all that stuff blows me away to think about it. i mean, really, think about all the little reactions that are happening all the time just for normal functioning, as in being a vegeatable. let alone for and kind of movement or physical activity. talk aboout
